Mist, and the permit

Gorilla country is permit-led. Aurelian does not sell the hour in the forest as theatre. The park owns the trek; we own the house on either side of it — tea, mist, a fire, a deck in the canopy or a stone terrace under the cones.\n\nCanopy House in Bwindi and Bisoke House in Rwanda are residential on purpose. Two nights is the honest minimum: one to arrive, one to walk, sometimes a third if the weather turns. Pairing the two parks is possible; pairing either with a beach is a longer arc, usually Zanzibar rather than the Kenya coast.\n\nThe collection will not grow here by adding lodges we cannot operate. Forest hospitality is a staffing problem before it is a marketing problem.
